KCIT-TV (Channel 14) is a Fox-affiliated television station and licensed to Abilene, Texas. Mission Broadcasting, Inc. has owned the station and operated by Nexstar Media Group. It is a sister channel of KCPN-LP and KAMR-TV and all three station share studios located on Southeast 11th Avenue, Amarillo. KCIT founded on 24 October 1982 and its first show aired 36 years ago on same date. The call letter meaning of network is “CIT= See It”.

History
The channel signed on air first time on 24 October 1982 with call letters KJTV. Ray Moran was the founder and owner of the station, and he purchased construction permit by FCC in March 1981. The station maintained the programming as the independent station. In these programming drama serial, sitcoms, feature films etc included and channel also carried business news from Financial News Network until 1985. Wilson Industries Inc. purchased the station from Moran in November 1984 for $1 million. FCC approved this sale on 11 December 1984, and the Call letters changed into KCIT on 11 August 1985. News Corporation turned KCIT to Fox Broadcasting Company in 1986.
Fox 14 joined Fox programming on 9 October 1986. Wilson declared it would sell out the station to the KCIT Acquisition Co on 18 January 1991 for $2.3 million and that sale approved on 11 March on same year by FCC. The station started the secondary affiliation with the Prime Time Entertainment Network in September 1993. The Network got a sister channel in October 1994, when Epic Broadcasting signed on K65GD as the independent station.
Epic Broadcasting sold KCIT and other sister channels to Wicks Broadcast Group in May 1995. After that, Wicks Company decided to sale the station Mission Broadcasting on 6 January 1999 for $13 million. The station operation is also operated by Quorum under joint sales with Mission Broadcasting. Nexstar Broadcasting Group announced that it will purchase the stations from Quorum and on 31 December 2003 sale finalized. But still, the station is under the ownership of Mission Broadcasting Inc.
