Fox 5 DC News is a Fox owned and operated television station licensed to the American capital city of Washington, District of Columbia. It is officially termed and recognized as WTTG, which is abbreviated from Thomas Tolliver Goldsmith, who is the chief engineer of founding company DuMont. It is a sister station to WDCA which is a station owned and operated by MyNetworkTV. The two stations share studios, offices and transmitter facilities on Wisconsin Avenue in the northwest of Washington.

History
The station was founded by Allen b. DuMont in early 1945 as W3XWT which was a second experimental station in Washington. Under DuMont Television Network, W3XWT received a commercial license as WTTG and became the first ever licensed television station in American capital city.
WTTG went to become an independent station in 1958 after DuMont shut down network operations. 20th century Fox bought the station in 1986, and it is now one of the six original stations and operated by Fox.
