KWSU-TV founded on Sep 24, 1962 is a PBS affiliate broadcasting in Pullman, Washington and is owned by Washington State University. The transmitter of the channel is located on Kamiak Butte near Palouse, Washington. KTN is a satellite of the service broadcasting on UHF Ch: 22 in Tri-Cities area with transmitter maintained on Jump Off Joe Butte. The duo is branded as Northwest Public Television and covers north central Idaho, southeastern Washington and Wallowa County, Oregon.

The studios of the main channel are located in the Murrow Communications Center on main campus in Pullman while the satellite operates from WSU Tri-Cities campus located in Richland. KWSU operates in a corner of the Spokane market while KTWN throws the Northwest Public Television in Yakima and Tri-Cities area. Both channels are available on DirecTV and Dish Network to larger Washington area, Oregon, Montana and Idaho. Xfinity systems is another carrier in Spokane. History

KWSC-TV was founded on Sep 24, 1962 and was renamed as KWSU-TV in 70s. The satellite: KTNW went on air on Oct 8, 1987 and was previously known as KTRX-TV until 1987. Both services turned digital on Feb 17, 2009.
