History

KCWX went on air on Aug 3, 2000 as KBEJ and was originally a UPN affiliate for the markets of Austin and San Antonio. Previously UPN was broadcasted by KRRT which was launched in Jan 1995 and kept the affiliation until Jan 1998 when it switched to The WB. It became a CW affiliate under the ownership Corridor Television on March 28, 2006. The television was meant to serve the CW’s Austin affiliate however, on April 18, 2006 it was announced that WB linked KNVA was also joining The CW. The service changed its calls to KCWX to reflect the affiliation with the newly launched network.

During its stint as a CW affiliate, the channel broadcasted kids programming and select syndicated programs. It switched to MyNetworkTV on Aug 30, 2010. The web-portal of the channel was launched in early 2011 and it flash cut to digital signal on June 12, 2009.
