History
WPXJ (channel 51) established by Paxson Communications, It is the previous name of Ion Media Networks. When first Show of the station aired at that time Ion Pax TV operated and owned it on 17 June 1999. Before WPXJ-TV, Paxson’s tried to launching WNYP-TV, based in Jamestown and affiliated with Canadian network CTV. CTV owned by Lowell W “Bud” Paxson, founder of Pax from 1966 to 1969. WPXJ started a Dish Network Buffalo channel in February 2006.

WPXJ-TV is Ion affiliated channel which mostly carried Police Procedural, Adventures, Military action and thriller programs. These all are very interesting especially for those who have an interest in investigation programs. The programs list and some description of these given here. WPXJ is carried News program From NBC stations like Channel 2 News at Ten. But in 2006, the News partnership with NBC was ended.
