History
WXTV-DT (Channel 41) started as an independent station in 1968, and programs broadcast in both English and Spanish language. The station became Spanish language channel in 1970, affiliation with the Spanish International Network and became Univision in 1987. The transmitter of WXTV located at Empire State Building that’s why the signal did not damage on the September 11, 2001 terror attacks on World Trade Center. WXTV-DT (Channel 41) worked as the low powered repeater from the 1980s to 2002 in Philadelphia. There are four sister channels of WXTV-DT and their names: WFUT-DT, WFTY-DT, WXNY-FM and WADO.
