CW23 WNLO-TV (Channel 23) is CW affiliated station by Nexstar Media Group. It based in Buffalo, New York and studios located on Elmwood Avenue in North Buffalo. The First Show of WNLO (channel 23) aired 31 years ago on 13 May 1987. This station also takes responsibility of CBS programming which considered alternate of this channel. It is operating with its sister channel WIVB-TV.

WNLO-TV (channel 23) was second public television of Buffalo, and at that time it operated as WNEQ-TV. WNEQ-TV aired its programming daily for six and seven hours. Many cable providers started carrying WNED-TV programming in 1992 but, many of them removed cable services for WNEQ_TV in 1998 due to limited channel capacity. Federal Communications Commission gave educational license to Channel 23 and Channel 17. In 2001, WNEQ-TV made a general Entertainment station under call sign WNLO. Rogers requested to Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission that allow the channel of WNLO in Ontario.
On 18 September 2006, WNLO started broadcasting with CW affiliation. WNLO acquired a universal cable channel Through Western New York on 10 March 2010. After that Media General announced the merging of LIN on 21 March 2014 which completed on 19 December. Media General made an announcement on 27 January 2016 that we had done the agreement with Nexstar group which owns 171 stations and WIVB and WNLO included in it.
