KAZD owned by HC2 Holdings is an Azteca America O&O channel serving Lake Dallas, and Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Launched on March 18, 1997, the studios of the channel are located on McKinney Avenue in downtown Dallas while transmitter is available on South of Belt Line Road in Cedar Hill. The cable carriers of the channel are AT&T U-Verse, Charter Spectrum and Verizon FiOS.

It was launched on Dec 25, 1990 as a JV between the two companies and broadcasted music, videos and religious programs. Its original transmission site was located in Lewisville. Due to poor performance linked with deficiency of resources and capital, the channel would face hefty fine imposed by FCC and subsequently lost its license in the mid-90s.
The current channel KAVB signed on air on March 18, 1997 as KAVB when Johnson Broadcasting obtained the contraction permit. It changed its calls to KLDT soon after its launch and got linked with America’s Collectibles Network. The channel would soon reduce the programing of home shopping network to overnight hours and started airing classic television series, movies, sporting events and business news. “TV55 Has the Shows Your Know” was the catch-phrase of Channel 55.
It would then drop a big chunk from its entertainment programs for infomercials and Collectibles network programs in 2000 while also earned the affiliation of Hispanic Television Network. After the closure of CAN it began to broadcast programs offered by ShopNBC on Nov 2, 2009.
Johnson applied for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection in Oct 2008. The sale of the channel was rectified by bankruptcy court on Dec 29, 2009 and received subsequent approval of Federal Communications Commission on Sep 27, 2010 to be eventually acquired by Una Vez Más. The new callsign under the ownership of Una Vez Más was KAZD granted by FCC in a response to an application it received on Sep 30, 2010. Northstar Media, LLC. Purchased Una Vez Más channels in 2015 before moving them to HC2 Holdings on Nov 29, 2017. Under the news ownership it became Azteca America station.
