KBTX News 3 Bryan is a CBS affiliated television station and licensed to Bryan, Texas. Gray Television owns the station. It maintains Studio on East 29th street in Bryan. The internal operations control at the studio of sister network KWTX-TV that located on American Plaza in Waco. It considers a semi-satellite network of KWTX-TV but airs separate newscasts and others programming. It established in 1957, and the first show aired 61 years ago on 22 May 1957. History
The station first time signed in the air on 22 May 1957 and became the first television network in Brazos Valley that went on air. The channel started CBS programming in 1984. In May 2007, celebrating its 50th anniversary, and former staff also invited on the event. FCC shut down the analogue signal of the station permanently on 20 January 2009. But, after one month on 28 February 2009, it began full power stations broadcasting from Carlos tower. KWTX and KBTX jointly run newscasts in early 2009 but, in March 2009, they returned to separate newscasts. The station acquired two major satellite providers in 2009. It launched a newscast show called First News at four on 12 September 2011. The high definition newscasts broadcasting began on 10 October 2011, and it made HD news channel in Brazos Valley.
