KETK-TV launched on March 9, 1987 is an NBC station airing in Jacksonville, Tyler and Longview areas of Texas. Owned by Nexstar Media Group, the channel has three studios located on Richmond Road in Tyler with transmitter installed near FM 855 in unincorporated northwestern Cherokee County.

History
The UHF channel 56 was originally occupied by KTRG but the channel could not make it and the owner eventually filed for bankruptcy. The license was acquired by the new owners who applied to change the calls to KETK. The station went on air on March 9, 1987 and immediately took over the NBC affiliation from KLTV. It originally operated from studios located on North Jackson Street in Jacksonville. Texas American Broadcasting its original owner released the channel to Regional 56 Network, a division of Lone Star Broadcasting in 1989.
The channel 56 launched KLSB as its rebroadcaster in Sep 1991 to cover the southern portions of the market. It then moved to its present facility on Richmond Road at South Loop 323 n Tyler 1993. Max Television acquired the service in 1996. Sinclair Broadcast Group in 1998 acquired Max Media assets including KETK. The non-license assets of the Ch 56 were sold to Communications Corporation of America in early 1999. Max Media in 2003 purchased KLSB and made it an independent station KYTX in April 2004. KETK was purchased by Nexstar Broadcasting Group on April 24, 2013 while KTPN and KFXK were purchased by Mission Broadcasting the deal consummated on Jan 1, 2015. The channel celebrated its 30th anniversary in March 2017.

It presently broadcasts 26.5 hours of locally produced news-bulletins with 4.5 hours each week and 2 hours on Sat and Sun.
